Life in a Wormhole: A Brief Critique #eveonline

"Fuck everything," mutters CB, "about this tower interface." Two days have passed since we moved into a new wormhole, and he is helping me anchor the last of the defensive modules outside the force field.

"It's... pretty bad," I agree, dragging another module to where I want it. "It used to be even slower."

"I can't believe you've been doing this for two days..." CB says. "And two different systems before this one. I guess should just stop bitching."

He pauses. "But seriously, fuck everything about this tower interface."

CCP, the interface you've created is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever seen. At no point in your rambling, incoherent UI were you even close to anything that could be considered rational. Everyone in who has used it is now dumber for having interacted with it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Its not that bad, once you get used to it.....or maybe it is just that I've given up hope and my soul managing our tower for the last two years...so hard to tell these days.

:) You guys are hilarious. I"m just sitting here eating popcorn getting caught up on all your shennanigans. After incursions got pooped upon by Greyscale, I'm definitely thinking of giving WH space a try. Are you guys setting up a training corp for this system? I don't think I'm ready for c6 space. I'm US TZ ranging from 10 hours (when busy at work) to 30 hrs a week.

After my two man stint into wormholes, i too say fuck tower interface. Someone at CCP needs to be forced to spend a week setting up towers and such, with various permission changes.

I'm in with Dan. You probably have a number of people interested in jumping into wormholes but aren't ready for c5-6, you might be able to start an alliance with all your fans.

The tower interface, like the TSA, would get fixed if the idiots who come up with it had to use it.

If President Obama had to go through two or three airports in a week, that shit would get fixed tomorrow.

Same with the blood POS moving crap around interface.

First tower we set up, I spent hours schelpping fuel and ammo around. In the middle of the night. With no overwatch. God we were stupid then.

Glad I did that instead of moving stuff around in the tower.

I think maintaining a tower from day to day is... fine.

Not GOOD, by any stretch of the imagination (security is terrible, as is not being able to set structure names/set reliable security/use containers inside hangars/set reliable security/have folders inside SMAs/set reliable security) but fine.

But as annoying as the day to day is, setting up and taking down towers is... some kind of punishment.

I'm not saying it sucks..but it sucks.

Did you get to enjoy the experience before they changed the anchor/online times?

Twice.

If you did setup a training corp I would definitely be willing to join that corp!!!!

Winter said...

Depends on the corp you're looking at joining. Some C5/C6 groups can and do use people in drakes. It is not encouraged or desired, but its tolerated while they train for tengu and acquire the isk needed to fit one out.

Caldari will be the last race of ships I train, because tengu.

Best thing about Wolf-Rayet systems is getting to ignore Caldari ship training.

Not even when the expansion hits? Imagine all those tengus shooting all those missiles?

I've almost sold everything I had in nullsec (failed attempt at joining a sov holding alliance in nullsec, hated everything about it, the politics, stupid rules on where to rat, required ship fittings and ships I don't want to fly - I was basically useless to them since I can't fly any capitals). I'd like to try wormholes, and a c2 sounds like something I can handle.

What are your requirements to joining?

+1 Internets to CB for Billy Madison reference.
